We thank our elected officials for their investments in arts and culture in their communities and ask them to keep their pledges to foster healthy\, vibrant\, and prosperous communities that include the arts. \nArtsDay 2018 will take place on Friday\, April 20\, at LA City Hall. \nInterested in serving as a delegate? DESCRIPTION:Californians for the Arts’ board members Brad Erickson and Sofia Klatzker will be leading the state delegation to participate in National Arts Advocacy Day\, March 12-13\, 2018. \nArts advocates from across the country convene in Washington\, DC for our annual Arts Advocacy Day each year. Arts Advocacy Day brings together a broad cross section of America’s cultural and civic organizations\, along with more than 700 grassroots advocates from across the country\, to underscore the importance of developing strong public policies and appropriating increased public funding for the arts. \nOn Monday\, March 12\, 2018\, hundreds of arts advocates from across the country convened for interactive advocacy training and peer-to-peer learning and networking. That evening\, attendees attended the Nancy Hanks Lecture on Arts & Public Policy at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. \nThen\, on Tuesday\, March 13\, 2018\, after the Congressional Arts Kick Off\, advocates met with their Members of Congress and Senators to share their stories about the impact and transformative power that the arts have in their communities. \nWhy should I attend Arts Advocacy Day?\nAt Arts Advocacy Day\, you get three things you can’t get anywhere else. \n\nNetworking with your fellow arts advocates from across the country and go on congressional visits led by State Captains.\nLearning the latest research facts and figures on the arts to help make your case.\nStrategizing with experienced advocates during an interactive role play session on how to make the case for the arts and arts education to your members of Congress.
