The State of Florida this week increased its arts funding by 350%–to $43 million (higher than California’s has ever been!).
What’s Florida got that we don’t? Come on, arts advocates–make your voices heard (and THIS is the week to do it!).
The California Legislature’s Budget Conference Committee has not yet voted on the California Arts Council budget, and we are flooding them with calls & faxes.
We believe the Committee will vote on the arts funding TODAY or tomorrow.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PHONE THEM TODAY if you haven’t already done so!
It’s EASY:
Whoever answers at each office, just say to them:
“Hello, I SUPPORT THE $10 MILLION APPROPRIATION TO THE CALIFORNIA ARTS COUNCIL AS RECOMMENDED BY THE ASSEMLY.”
They will ask your name and zip code or city and thank you for your time. That’s all!

I would appreciate it if the CA State Arts funding is substantially increased; please support the $10 million appropriation to their budget as approved by the Assembly.
